Water flows through my hometown / Words flow off the tip of my tongue / I’ve wrote songs about what it’s like to love / I’ve wrote songs about where I’ve come from / I remember a time back when I was young / I rode my bike, back behind the park / I strayed off the path, looking for adventure / Found a pond it was one like no other / And I kicked off my shoes, left my socks inside / And I walked towards the water / And I could feel the mud between my toes / For one reason or another / I was livin’ young, was livin‘ fast / I was getting scratched and bruised but the pain won’t last / I was falling off of my bike / And I’d have to fix the chain / Getting home every night late / To get the same old speech / Since that time I’ve been swimming in the lakes / And putting a smile right upon my face / I spent the year with my girl and my good friends / Making memories that’ll last until the end / We took a ride up around the bend / Walked through the path in the pouring rain / We didn’t care because it made for one good laugh / Changed into our suits in the middle of the path / And we kicked off our shoes, left our socks inside / Then they jumped into the water / And I fell four feet off the rocks / And cut open my feet.
